Aqua, the novel: saving pure water with a bird, a Greek goddess, and a pair of winged horses.
College student Diana Carter returns to the family ranch after her first year of school, anticipating a summer pack trip into the Wind River Mountains with her father and Willy, their Eastern Shoshone and Crow family friend and ranch hand. Her plans are upended when her grandmother breaks her hip and her dad leaves to work in the oil fields of North Dakota.
Diana learns she is destined to save pure water on our planet. The necklace Willy gives Diana, telling her the elk is her animal, protects her as she joins the Greek goddess Persephone and a little Mountain Bluebird named Indigo on a quest to save clean water.
Aqua II Waves of Sage
Saving pure water with birds, Greek gods, and winged horses.
College student Diana Carter returns to the family ranch in Wyoming, now secure in her role as Diana of The Wind Rivers. She knows that, as a child of the prophecy, she is destined to work with the Greek gods and goddesses to save pure water on the planet. Poseidon sends a pair of flying horses, while Persephone gives birth to twins, Kya and Spruce.
As Diana begins to discover her full powers, Kya and Spruce grow into their own. Indigo, a Mountain Bluebird, struggles to help while at the same time raising hatchlings with her mate.
The companions travel to Pando, one of the oldest living organisms on the planet; they search for an indigenous ancestor on Squaretop Mountain; and seek the secrets of the elk in Wyoming’s high-altitude Red Desert.
My Purpose for Writing
My experiences growing up at the base of the Wind River Mountains in Wyoming fostered my love of our planet. The Aqua series is a call to action that will inspire humans to protect our most precious natural resource: water.
